March Gladness

Teresa Evans Memorial Walk

written by Cole Olafson and Robert Estes

On March 24, 2011, Mrs. Gower’s 5th/6th grade class at Brouillet Elementary hosted a memorial walk-a-thon for a past playground supervisor who had lost her long and courageous battle against cancer. Teresa Evans was a friend to the Brouillet community, and the walk was both a time for remembrance and giving hope. The $2,763.40 raised from the walk-a-thon will be sent to the American Cancer Society to be used to find a cure for cancer. Mrs. Gower’s class received donations and materials for the walk from local merchants and families in the class so everything earned went directly to the cause. Even though the walk is over you can still help by making your own walk or donating either at Brouillet Elementary or on the American Cancer Society website: http://www.cancer.org/.
